St. John's Elora Expansion

Client: St. John's Elora Church

Status: Under Construction

Location: 36 Henderson Street, Elora

Project Type: Institutional, Heritage

Service: Architecture

SRM Architects led the design of this new addition that bridges the existing Church and Parish Office buildings, creating a fully accessible and purpose-built space to support the church’s evolving community outreach and programming.

The addition includes a bright and welcoming entrance lobby, a gathering hall with capacity for approximately 100 people, a commercial-grade kitchen, and fully accessible washrooms—designed to accommodate a range of activities and users. In addition, the project involved the respectful relocation of the existing columbarium, which will be impacted by the construction.

Throughout the process, SRM worked closely with the church to find an appropriate location for the new columbarium, ensuring barrier-free access from Smith Street and creating a peaceful, reflective space for visitors, while preserving the spirit and function of the church campus.
