Edward Thomas has over 30 years’ experience in the Architectural Industry. He is a member of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).

Since joining SRM as a Partner in 2006, he has played a pivotal role in the firm's growth and evolution. In 2023, Edward lead the successful merger of SRM Architects and Michael Spaziani Architect Inc., adding the new office in Toronto, and expand SRM’s service to offer Interior Design and Urban Design.

Over the course of his career, Edward has led numerous successful projects across Ontario including multi-residential buildings, retirement homes and long-term care, schools, community centres, and churches. His portfolio reflects a deep understanding of how thoughtful, inclusive design can enrich communities.

Today, Edward’s role centers on advancing SRM’s long-term vision and fostering a culture of design excellence. He provides strategic guidance to the team, ensuring that each project reflects SRM’s core values, and delivers meaningful impact for clients and their communities. His wealth of experience continues to inspire innovative solutions and strengthen the firm’s position as a leader in the industry.

Beyond architecture, Edward is deeply engaged in his community. He has generously offered his time and expertise to several organizations that enhance the cultural, social, and physical fabric of his community. His voluntary leadership has guided transformative projects including the Elora Centre for the Arts Expansion, the St. John’s Elora Church Accessibility Project, and the Kindle Communities Supportive Housing in Guelph. Edward also has provided significant guidance and design leadership to the Portage Youth Rehabilitation Program in Elora, and Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus.
